Parks & Recreation

The Lawrence Recreation Department is composed of both the Lawrence Township and the Village of Lawrence and the Steering Committee is an independent group of volunteers who are endorsed by both governmental units. The first activity of the Committee was the review and updating of the Village’s Recreation Master Plan (link below). The ambitious plan includes activities in 6 tracks which are Recreation, Enrichments, Youth, Sports, Trails and Operations.

The cornerstone of the five-year plan is development of a Sports Complex to serve both youth and adult leagues in the following sports: Baseball/softball, soccer, and football. Other key plans include: Blackman Street Trail Extender, renovation of the basketball courts and replacement of the tennis courts in the Village Park, a Tree Replacement program and the planning phases for the development of a Community Center. All members of the community are invited to participate in LRD activities. For more information contact the Township office at 269-674-8833.

  • Tom Reynnells

  • Noah Nower

  • Dale Gribler

Meetings occur every 3rd  Sunday of the month at 6:00 pm at the Village Hall (see Meetings Notice page exact dates in case of schedule conflicts).
